Class overview
4-Year-Old Program
Children must be 4 years old by December 31st.
Classes are 2.5 hours long, 2 days a week.
The 4-year-old program is a great way to prepare your child for kindergarten. Children are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings while all avenues of learning are explored. This program will focus on listening skills, social abilities as well as letters, numbers, colors and shapes recognition. Kids will learn through free play, crafts, story time and structured activities.

My name is Tanya Molnar and I’m so excited to be the 4yr old teacher again this year. I’ve been working with young learners at Strathmore and District playschool for approximately 17 years and I can’t imagine anywhere else I’d rather be. I love helping children explore, imagine, and grow. In our class, we’ll learn through play, ask lots of questions, make new friends, and have plenty of fun along the way. I can’t wait to get to know each of you and your amazing child, here’s to another exceptional year together!

My name is Brenda Struiksma and I am so excited to be working as the Teacher Assistant for the 4 year old program this year. I have been a resident of Strathmore for 29 years after making the short move from the Rockyford area. Paul and I have been married for 29 years and have 2 wonderful children ages 22 and 19. I love working at the Playschool and working with preschool children. I look forward to meeting all of you and having another great year at Playschool!

My name is Melissa Scales and I am so excited to be back at Strathmore & District playschool. I grew up in Calgary and moved to Strathmore 9 years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest. I have 4 wonderful kids who are all in school now and I look forward to hanging out with yours while mine are away. I have been working/volunteering with children my entire adult life. From volunteering with Girl Guides to working one-on-one with littles in their home. I love crafting and singing, and I can’t wait to meet all the kids and their families.
