Strathmore & District
We have been serving this community since 1976, including over 18 years in our current building.
Strathmore & District Playschool is a non-profit, parent-assisted organization. Parents participate in the classroom on a regular basis, assisting the teacher and providing guidance to the students. It has been operating since 1976, including 18 years in the current building, located on Westmount school grounds. We run from Monday to Thursday from September 9th to May 28th.
Registration for the 2020-21 school year is still open, we will accept students until all our classes are full.
We strive to do minimal fundraising and have attempted to have events that are not cumbersome or time consuming for our families.
Fundraising efforts include:
- Casino held every 3 years, next one being held around April 2021.
- Paint nights: our first one was in March 2019. We also had one in December 2019. Look for info for another one next winter.
- Annual bottle Drive: Parents are asked to drop off bottles each spring, dates TBA.

Here is what you can expect
From our Teachers & Staff
We will always love and respect your child for who they are and not who we may want them to be.
We will give your child space – to grow, to dream, to succeed and sometimes even to fail.
We will create a loving environment and show your child that they are treasured, whenever and however we can.
We will, when discipline is necessary, let your child know that we disapprove of what he does, not who he is.
We will set limits for your child and help them find security in the knowledge of what is expected of them.
We will make time for your child and cherish our moments together, realizing how important they are.
We will set up lessons that will benefit your child socially, physically, intellectually, creatively, and emotionally.
We will encourage your child to experience the world and all its possibilities, guiding them in ways to leave them careful but not fearful.
We will take care of this facility and make sure that it has well defined stations that are kept clean and safe for your child.
We will try to model for your child; demonstrating how easy it is to be loving, fair-minded, moral, giving, and hopeful.
This is our pledge to you and your child; we look forward to the coming school year and getting to know you all.
